iPhone has spawned quite a large interest in the developer community, and there are more useful and applications coming out every day. The latest having to do with online dating, which is the focus of this blog of course, is Viximo's TrueFlirt iPhone app. Basically, it's interactive virtual flirting, and it looks quite good. According to Rob Frasca, Viximo CEO, more than half the number of short messages sent daily by an average 14-24 year old are flirtatious. Thus, the company decided to make it easier for singles to flirt and have more fun doing it. Since the iPhone is quite popular with the yound crowd, it was only natural they created TrueFlirt in order to "take flirting up a notch". The app combines text messaging with impressive 2D graphics and other iPhone technology such as the accelerometer and multi-touch interface. All this contributes to immediacy and fun in flirting. The app comes with eleven interactive flirts preloaded. For example, you can offer your crush a Love Potion that bubbles and pours when they tap or shake their device (okay, there is room for double meaning here, you can send a fortune cookie that opens when shaked and reveal a tempting prediction about a future romance. Probably the best feature is the mood setting bachelor pad Flirt, where users can tap object shown on the scene, and reveal sexy essentials like a hidden waterbed or disco ball. In order to keep things fresh and fun, there are new flirts and collections added regularly and automatically, some featuring famous pop-culture icons from the past. Okay, now if it was all for free, it would really be a treat, but it's not. TrueFlirt costs $5.99, and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. A free version will be available, but doesn't allow you to originate and send flirts. A free version of TrueFlirt will also be available with limited functionality but the paid version of TrueFlirt is required to originate and send Flirts.
