Nokia originally announced that the N97 would be available in the first half of 2009, so the March 31st timeframe is definitely believable. It should be noted that this is the Euro variant, with tri-band 3G (900/1900/2100MHz). According to the Product Managers I spoke with, the NAM variant, also with tri-band 3G (850/1900/2100MHz) is expected ‘within weeks’ of the Euro variant. Both the large touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard are on board, meaning this baby could help you increase your productivity while on the go. Alternatively, it’s also a media savvy device, sporting a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED flash, media player, 32GB of built-in storage memory, GPS, WiFi, 3G (HSDPA), and a whole lot more. Since Play.com is a British website, it’s fair to argue they’re selling the N97 with European 3G frequencies, so if you’re in the U.S./Canada, I would suggest waiting for the local retailers.
