 The latest version 1.1 of BumpChat brings several several improvements like better performance, larger profile pictures, fixed distance-from-me searches, and the ability to tell people near you about what you're doing and have that show up on their screen.
BumpChat is an iPhone/iPod app by Bump Mobile, and is a relatively new dating and chat app. It allows people to connect with others in their immediate area, or anywhere in the world, and allows unlimited texting and picture messaging through an easy-to-use interface. The app incorporates many features found in other web-based dating and chat applications, including advanced search capability. Users can specify gender, age, sexual orientation, and distance from position. BumpChat uses the iPhone's ability to provide position, and show other user profiles within the specified radius that you are there, your accurate location with options for chat and picture messaging, which normal web apps can't do. Furthermore, the app uses the iPhone's built in camera for grabbing live pictures, which can be sent from the iPhone's library to users in the vicinity.
