Apple has released the third beta of its iPhone OS v3.0 to members of its iPhone Developer Program. Though the changes documented thus far are minimal, the new version includes performance improvements, user interface updates, and alterations to Spotlight search.
Reports at this point suggest that the new version is cosmetically identical to BETA 2. The feel of it is smoother with a bit more snap. There is nothing so different to this version when sitting next to the last for anyone to panic.
As was also reported, MMS and tethering support aren't likely to appear until v3.0's final release.
